Driving Lessons
Straight Talking recently raised funds enabling a limited number of the young parents to learn to drive. Offering driving lessons is an excellent incentive for teenage parents to join the charity. Some very hard-to-reach young people have become employed by Straight Talking as a result. The lessons are offered to those young parents who display a responsible and mature attitude to their employment with Straight Talking.
Having a driving licence means that they can reach more schools and earn more money for themselves and their families. Driving will reduce their need to be reliant on others and makes their lives with children, easier. This abilitly to drive also means that they are more competetive in the job market. Eight of the teenagers have passed so far, giving them a real sense of achievement.
Please note, we do not offer driving lessons to anyone who is not employed by the charity.
