Job Vacancy

Straight Talking is looking to recruit an Employment and Empowerment Mentor on a 1 year fixed contract. The charity runs an employment and empowerment programme for the teenage mothers and young fathers employed by the charity. This four-year structured pathway has young parents entering the workforce as sessional workers (peer educators) and moving on to further education and employment opportunities. Straight Talking's aim is to equip them with the skills and experience to successfully achieve financial independence from State benefits and reach their aspirations and potential. The charity is now seeking a confident individual who can support the individuals successfully through the programme. The successful candidate will have proven experience of successfully working with challenging young people and understand the need for strong boundaries. They should be able to plan and manage their own work load in a well- organised manner and recognise the importance of information sharing. Good networking abilities are essential as are excellent communication skills. For a full job specification, click here.
